Host families
Why collaborate?
A house with open doors represents the country that we want to be: generous, welcoming, grateful and cosmopolitan.
Grass-roots diplomacy, as opposed to institutional diplomacy, is not exercised from a lectern in a parliament, but around a table with new friends. It does not occur in an random hotel room, but rather, in the warmth of a host family’s home.
How to participate?
If you live in Girona or its surrounding regions, please fill in the form by March 15.
We gather families by groups of 10, with one family handling the other 9.
Prior to March 18, we will confirm your participation and your leading family.

Unlike institutional diplomacy, grass root diplomacy is not practiced behind closed doors of a parliament, but around a table with new friends. If you live in Girona or its central municipalities (excluding Ripollés, Cap de Creus and la Cerdanya) and wish to be a host, you just need to fill out the form that you will find on this web page. We will request personal details, such as your address, as well as the number of available beds and bedrooms, to be able to assess the scope of your help to host foreign guests.
We will group all of the families in teams of 10, and each team will have 1 family / team leader who is responsible for ensuring smooth coordination. All families will need to be endorsed by the team leader, with whom they will have direct contact and who will be assigned to you by geographic proximity or by direct acquaintance.
Living amongst Catalan families and participating in activities will help visitors toreturn to their places of origin with a very clear, realistic idea of what Catalonia is (in this first year as seen through the citizens of the Girona region).
