Announcement
This year, activities will be focused in the Girona region. Looking ahead to 2021, the program will extend throughout all of Catalonia, including Northern Catalonia. The event will be celebrated from Wednesday, April 22nd to Sunday, April 26th, 2020. (We will also consider anyone who wants to participate and can only attend fewer days).
The goal
The idea is to make visitors participants over the course of 4 days in the soul of the Girona region, by offering university lectures, museums with open doors, discoveries from our historical heritage, routes through nature, and visits to points of industrial and technological relevance, as well as facilitating contacts and meetings within the civic, academic, artistic, literary and business spheres. But above all, we hope that visitors will engage with dozens of Catalans who will become their friends reference within the country, and hopefully this will be the start of a long journey of collaboration, exchange and friendship.
How to participate?
Fill out the form and send us your participation request until March 15.
We will then process your request to be one of the guests.
If your request can be accommodated you will receive a confirmation email by March 18th.
If you are curious and interested in getting to know Catalonia better and getting invited to a Catalan family's home, please fill out the form and you will have the chance to participate in the first year of the Catalonia OpenDoors project. The family who will welcome you, their neighbors, the volunteers and all the citizens who are involved in the event will accompany you throughout these four days. So come and visit us!

You can sign up for the event until March 15th. Once you have completed the form and sent your request, you will be entered into the selection process. On March 18th, we will announce the names of the 200 guests who have been selected to enjoy this unique experience with the Catalan people.
Signing up is very easy. Just fill out the form, which you can find on our web page, until March 15th. Once the registration period is closed, the Catalonia OpenDoors team will review all of the applications received and will select up to 200 guests from all over the world. If you are one of those selected, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail by Tuesday, March 10th
The goal of Catalonia OpenDoors is to connect foreign guests with host families and with all of the collaborators who are a part of this project. Thus, before traveling to Catalonia, you will have the opportunity to become acquainted with and communicate with the network of citizens participating in this initiative.
You only need to pay for your transportation to Catalonia. Once you are here, you will be our guest for four days.

Living among Catalan families, as well as the activities that you participate in, will help you to return to your place of origin with a much clearer, more realistic idea of what Catalonia is, as seen through the citizens of the Girona region.
